Discovery High School

Project Overview

The Discovery High School project entailed the construction of a new two-story, 90,000 SF building adjacent to the existing PBL Middle School. The structure, made primarily of structural steel, is clad with cor-ten weathering steel and aluminum composite material panels. Interior finishes were meticulously chosen to create a modern and functional learning environment, featuring polished concrete, wood panels, and a folding NanaWall system. Notable features include a large Skyfold door and perforated metal panels. Exterior enhancements were designed to foster collaboration between students, with the inclusion of an outdoor amphitheater and commons area connecting the middle school and high school. The project included the development of a soccer field and offsite street lighting, as well as road revisions to accommodate the new facility.
