Robinson Construction Co. broke ground this week with a spiritual blessing for the new Lowe’s Home Improvement store along Pakaula Street at the Maui Business Park.
The new store will be the “Taj Mahal” of all Lowe’s stores because it will be the company’s newest and feature more products and displays.
The new store is 22 percent larger at 94,000 square feet compared to the existing Maui store of 77,000 square feet. Lowe’s has been at the current location of Maui Marketplace since 1999 and the new store is only moving a short distance down the road. Lowe’s will be one of the anchor stores for the Marketplace.
The new Lowe’s will have LED lights and other modern features and provide customers with approximately 400 parking stalls.
Construction work on the new Lowe’s store is the latest development in Kahului’s new commercial development.
